The Kent Cos. has acquired Jack’s Convenience Stores, solidifying its presence in the West Texas market. The eight convenience stores are located in Midland, San Angelo and Abilene, Texas.
With the addition of the Jack’s Convenience Stores, Kent now has a total store count of 111 locations in eight states along with more than 150 dealer locations.
As part of the transition, all of the stores acquired from the Midlands, Texas-based company will undergo rebranding to Kent Kwik stores, offering the same wide array of products and services. Kent will integrate the newly acquired locations into its network and continue to serve and reinvest in the West Texas community, it said.

The company will update the fuel offerings to feature Chevron- or Texaco-branded fuels.

Founded in West Texas by the late Buck Kent in 1957, The Kent Cos., also based in Midland, Texas, began as Kent Oil and Kent Distributors and remains a family-owned business. The company includes Kent Kwik convenience stores, Mr. Payroll check cashing, Rustic Café, Huddle House, Baskin Robbins, Kent Car Washes, Kent Lubrication Centers, WesTex Urgent Cares, Prince Signs, Kent Tire Co. and Kent Fuels.
Kent continues to expand its operations. In January, it acquired DC Oil Co., Birmingham, Alabama, adding 13 convenience stores, a fuel transportation fleet and a portfolio of dealer accounts. In 2023, it acquired Tom Thumb Food Stores Inc., Hialeah, Florida, including 14 Tom Thumb locations and three Subway franchise locations.
