Restaurant Businesshas the best website for an industry publication its size, according to the 67th annual Jesse H. Neal Awards announced Wednesday, in which the publication earned nine additional awards.

The RB staff also won Neal Awards for best subject-related package (Evolving Kitchens), best art direction for a single article (Future of Food), best overall art direction (led by Winsight Media Creative Director Sara Stewart) and best COVID-19-related package (Coronavirus and Restaurant Technology, led by Senior Editor Joe Guszkowski).

RBEditor-in-Chief Jonathan Maze earned several individual awards, including best range of work by a single author, best series (The Burgerim Disaster), and best commentary and blog (The Bottom Line). Maze was also honored as third runner-up for the top prize, the Grand Neal Award, for his Burgerim stories.

RB Editor-at-Large Peter Romeo took home the award for best news coverage for his work on the Paycheck Protection Program.

The awards are the most prestigious honors in specialized journalism and were created in 1955 to recognize editorial excellence in business journalism. This year’s awards honor work done in 2020.

"To be honest, I'm speechless,” Maze said. “It was a difficult year, one filled with excellent journalism, and this just confirms how much superb work the RB team put in last year. I could not be prouder of this team.”

RB, which covered the COVID-19 crisis and its impact on restaurants from a variety of angles, had been a finalist for 14 Neal Awards.

“I am so proud of our team of editors and designers,” said Abbey Lewis, vice president of content strategy for Winsight Media. “Winning 10 awards at this year's Neal Awards is humbling and exceptional, especially considering the challenges that 2020 brought with it. And I'm incredibly proud of our Restaurant Business Editor-in-Chief Jonathan Maze for his third runner-up Grand Neal Award for his coverage of the Burgerim disaster."
