Avendra taps USF, DMA as primary suppliers

Avendra, LLC, Rockville, MD, the independent procurement company formed this year by five major hospitality companies, has selected U.S. Foodservice (USF), Columbia, MD, and Distribution Market Advantage (DMA), Schaumburg, IL, a chain account marketing group, as its primary distributors. These broadliners will share some $600 million worth of business.

Marriott Distribution Services (MDS), Washington, DC, also retains a share of volume, which ID estimates at some $200 million.

Marriott International, Inc., Hyatt Hotels, Bass Hotels & Resorts, Club Corp, USA, Inc., and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts are the founders of Avendra, which claims $10 billion in overall purchasing power. Food and related products represent some $800-$900 million of total.
