Cinnabon adds a savory breakfast choice

Cinnabon is hoping to sweeten its breakfast appeal by adding the cinnamon-bun chain’s first savory item: A dough-wrapped mini-sausage called a Sausage Bite.

Similar to pigs in a blanket, the Bites are sold three to an order for $2.89 or in a five-pack for $3.99.  Customers have a choice of mustard or maple syrup as an accompaniment.

The dough wrapped around the sausages is the same dough used in Cinnabon’s signature rolls, the chain said.

Cinnabon has franchised about 1,000 units worldwide.
