Click through to see which restaurant brands were the highest rated in terms of overall takeout capabilities in 2017, according to Technomic’s Consumer Brand Metrics, powered by Ignite. This list of the top players in takeout is based on consumer surveys collected between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31 of last year.
Firehouse’s variety of grab-and-go breakfast items at its airport locations—such as egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches—may have helped the chain achieve its fifth-place standing on this list. The fast-casual chain’s takeout earned an overall Consumer Brand Metrics score of 69.5%.
The sandwich chain that promotes “freaky fast” service claims the fourth spot with a score of 71.3%. Early last year, 68% of consumers gave Jimmy John’s a “very good” rating when it came to its takeout packaging.
Raising Cane’s ranked third for overall takeout capabilities with a score of 71.4%. Moreover, last year, 66% of consumers gave the chicken chain a “very good” rating when it came to its takeout packaging—the third highest among restaurants in the survey.
Chick-fil-A came in second, with nearly 73% of consumers giving it the highest rating. The chain tested family-style meals last July, and its representatives said that family meals serve a growing demand for takeout options. They also found that more than a third of Chick-fil-A’s dinner customers (36%) take their meal to eat at home.
With nearly three-fourths (74.6%) of consumers giving Papa Murphy’s the highest rating for overall takeout capabilities, the take-and-bake pizza chain takes the top spot on this list. Early last year, 70% of consumers gave the chain a “very good” rating when it came to its takeout packaging—the highest of any restaurant included in the survey.
