The donation will be divided among selected students across the United States who are pursuing careers in the foodservice and hospitality industries. Over the last five years, Daydots has contributed more than $149,000 to the NRA Educational Foundation.
"We're happy to be able to support the Educational Foundation with this donation," said Mike Milliorn, president of Daydots. "We feel it is important to give back to the industry and do our part to help students who want to make foodservice their career of choice. These scholarships are very important to the students, and it is a pleasure to be able to help them at a critical point in their new careers."
The contribution is supported by a foundation Daydots created in March of 2000, the Daydots Foundation for Food Safety. This non-profit foundation was created to help raise awareness about foodborne illness and to promote food safety education. A portion of all sales goes into the foundation to support industry scholarships, food safety training and other not-for-profit organizations that promote food safety.
