Growing Urban Plates adds its 1st CMO

San Diego-based fast-casual concept Urban Plates has hired its first chief marketing officer, the company announced Thursday.

Steve Greer most recently was head of marketing for Xperience Restaurant Group and Real Mex Restaurants. He has also held marketing posts at Bloomin’ Brands for Outback Steakhouse, as well as Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar.

Urban Plates, which currently has 17 units, is preparing to double in size by 2021.

The farm-to-table concept also promoted Jim Cannon to chief culinary officer and hired Alison Wagner as vice president of human resources.
