16 Handles is adding some cookie dough to its frozen yogurt.

The New York-based chain on Tuesday said it has acquired DŌ, Cookie Dough Confections, a brand of edible and bakeable cookie dough. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Neil Hershman, who acquired 16 Handles last year, will serve as the CEO of the cookie dough concept. Kristen Tomlan, who founded the concept in 2014, will be the chief brand officer.

DŌ is already available at 16 Handles’ Manhattan locations. The company operated a retail shop in Greenwich Village to make more room for more ecommerce sales. The brand sells its cookie dough online and ships it nationwide.

DŌ has become popular with celebrities including Reese Witherspoon, Kim Kardashian, Ryan Seacrest and Chrissy Teigen. “It’s been a dream come true to collaborate over the past five years, so expanding the partnership and growing our brands together is exciting for us both,” Tomlan said in a statement.

Hershman, 16 Handles’ largest franchisee, acquired the 30-unit frozen yogurt brand last year along with the YouTuber Danny Duncan. He called DŌ “addictive, edible cookie dough” and promised to expand the brand nationally.

“DŌ is one of New York city’s favorite and most unique desserts, and it’s been so popular selling alongside our artisanal frozen yogurt at 16 handles in the past,” Hershman said.
