Arby’s plans to open 25 units near Chicago

Arby’s aims to open 25 new restaurants in the Chicago area, saying it has signed agreements to that effect.

The QSR, which currently has 64 locations around the city, said it expects to open these new units within the next five years.

While Arby’s said in a press release that it has the potential to triple its footprint in Chicago, it also noted its aim to “aggressively expand” within a number of other urban markets, including Seattle, Atlanta and Houston.

Arby’s made headlines earlier this month when it announced the return of a popular LTO from last fall, its venison sandwich, on a nationwide scale. The sandwich was previously available in just a handful of markets, and stores sold out of the item in less than a day.
