What to expect from restaurant M&A coming out of the pandemic

Dave Bagley, managing director of Carl Marks Advisors, joins the RB podcast “A Deeper Dive” to talk about trends in mergers and acquisitions in the restaurant space.

Consumers are changing again coming out of the pandemic, and that is expected to change the market for restaurant chains.

This week’s episode of the Restaurant Business podcast “A Deeper Dive” features Dave Bagley, the managing director of Carl Marks Advisors, to provide an outlook for acquisitions coming out of the pandemic.

Bagley leads the restaurant group at the New York-based investment bank and has more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance, operations management, profit improvement and interim management roles.

In this episode he talks about the overall industry and where it is headed. He also talks about the number of distressed restaurant chains and whether bankruptcies could continue even as sales improve. And he talks about the supply and demand for restaurants and whether buyers are shifting as consumers shift.
