Florida North Star Unit to Lay Off One-Third of Staff

"The company expects this mass layoff to commence on or around Oct. 31 (and) all affected employees have been notified," Andy Hemmerling, president of the division, said in a letter to Port Orange Mayor Allen Green.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reported that most of the layoffs involve delivery drivers and warehouse personnel. The company’s division in Ormond Beach, Florida, reportedly will not be affected.
