McDonald’s is bolstering its bakery lineup with donuts.

Specifically, the Chicago-based burger giant plans to add a new Glazed Pull Apart Donut on Sept. 1. The product will be available for a limited time, making it the first LTO in the chain’s relatively new McCafé Bakery lineup.

McDonald’s first introduced its bakery lineup in 2020 with an Apple Fritter, Blueberry Muffin and a Cinnamon Roll.

The lineup gave the chain something it had lacked in the morning—a lineup of sweet bakery options to go along with its typically savory breakfast menu of Egg McMuffins and biscuit sandwiches. The lineup is also available all day, something not true for its more traditional breakfast menu these days.

The bakery lineup has helped McDonald’s recover its morning sales more quickly from the pandemic than expected—particularly with the entrance of rival Wendy’s to the morning game.

The Glazed Pull Apart Donut is coated in a sweet glaze and is made of bites that can be torn apart and shared, the company said.
