GFS Marketplace Helps Fill Food Pantries

Designed to make it easy for community members and Marketplace shoppers to help provide meals at local shelters, the company is hosting a “Pantry Party” throughout the month, according to a Bay City News report on mlive.com.

Shoppers can stop by a table near the GFS Marketplace door, view items on a “gift registry” and check off those items they’d like to purchase for the shelter. As they check out, they present their registry selections to the cashier and have them added to their bill, according to the report. Volunteers pick up Pantry Party items at GFS Marketplace and delivery them to Rescue Mission operations for the homeless and the elderly.
