Gordon Food Service considers $24 million expansion in Wyoming

WYOMING, Mich. (June 15, 2010)—Gordon Food Service plans to add 175 jobs at its corporate headquarters in Wyoming.

The nation's largest family-owned food distributor will move the marketing and accounting positions from its operations near Toronto.

The company plans to renovate the former Sterk Concrete facility at 50th Street and Clay Ave. SW, and build a new four-story building there.

State officials granted GFS tax incentives today to make the move. Local incentives are set for approval on Monday, according to Wyoming's assistant city manager, Barb Van Duren.

Van Duren says the jobs are "high-end, high-paying" positions.
