ID NEWS: Garrett to depart IFPA

Edith Garrett, president of the International Fresh-Cut Produce Association (IFPA), Alexandria, VA, has notified the organization's board of directors that she will leave IFPA at the end of the year.

Garrett, who has held IFPA's top post since 1994, wishes to pursue new professional and personal opportunities, including the possible launch of a consulting business.

The board will immediately establish a committee to search for a successor.

"Edith had a tremendous impact on the growth and success of IFPA, including doubling the association budget, expanding our membership base by 45% and creating a world-class technical support program for members," comments Craig Delaney, IFPA board chairman.
