ID NEWS: Sysco creates value-added culinary post, taps foodservice veteran Schimoler

Sysco Corp., Houston, has named Stephen G. Schimoler to the newly created position of general manager of culinary business development.

Schimoler will be responsible for identifying the business needs of a variety of customer segments and providing culinary products, ideas, expertise and support, including procurement of specialty and artisan ingredients for customers.

Most recently, Schimoler served as executive chef and partner of The Mist Grill, Waterbury, VT, and he is president of the Research Chefs Association. His foodservice background includes various posts at Marriott Corp.'s restaurant and theme parks division. He also opened and served as executive chef at a number of his own restaurants. In addition, his background includes stints as vice president of development both at Cabot Creamery and Waterbury Fresh Foods.
