IFDA Inaugurates Redesigned Website

"The ifdaonline.org site is an important source of information for our members on federal regulatory and legislative activity affecting foodservice distributors and provides up to date information on every IFDA program," said Mark S. Allen, president and ceo. "Our revised website is designed to be even more user friendly and lays the foundation for new information that IFDA will provide for the benefit of our members and other stakeholders in our organization."

Some of the changes for users include:

  • A new primary navigation system located across the top of the site.
  • Information on government relations can now be found under the Public Policy area. This includes new information on IFDAPAC, recently developed position papers on key industry concerns, and a greater emphasis on grassroots activities.
  • Two frequently visited areas on the IFDA site involve information on the IFDA Partners Executive Forum and The Foodservice Distribution Conference & Expo. For user convenience, direct links to these areas of the website are now available on the site's homepage.
  • Articles on IFDA-related topics can be accessed from the homepage through an "IFDA News" button.

In addition, the foundation for the Center for Distribution Excellence has been put in place on the new site, IFDA reported. Over time, the association pointed out, this section of the site will be populated with information on timely topics in warehousing, transportation, and technology issues. This will include tools to assist distributors in improving business practices, white papers to help distributors assess capabilities provided by various technologies, pros and cons of various systems and practices, implementation advice and case studies, and potential resource providers. This will eventually become a "Members Only" resource, IFDA said.
