In what could be a bid to turn its challenged concepts around, Ignite Restaurant Group said it has named Debra Eybers its interim chief operating officer, a move that took effect on Nov. 29.

Eybers has worked with restaurants for more than two decades, having recently served as a consultant for Ruth’s Hospitality Group and The Palm. She is also a past president of the Cheeseburger in Paradise and House of Blues brands.

As part of its announcement, Ignite also named Lou Anne Banks its vice president of marketing.

The company’s sales have been spiraling downward of late, with comps slipping 6.5% year over year at Joe’s Crab Shack and 8.9% at Brick House Tavern + Tap during its most recent quarter.
