4 questions for Jerry Murrell

Was there a mistake in the early days that proved a particularly valuable lesson?

Oh lord, there are so many things. Probably the biggest mistake was trying to do what we did with no money.

I hesitate to ask this: Anything you can look back upon now and laugh?

There are all these ideas our friends came up with when we were starting that were just dumb. “Why don’t you do a ham sandwich?” or “Why don’t you have a chicken sandwich?”

What’s the best advice you’ve ever gotten?

Don’t listen to anything anyone tells you.

Was there a person who was key to you becoming a success?

I just bought my wife the nicest Mother’s Day present in the world. [Murrell won’t say what it was.] If it wasn’t for her, I’d be nothing.
