Bojangles’ Inc. on Tuesday named longtime industry executive Reese Stewart its chief financial officer.

Stewart comes to the Charlotte-based chicken chain after a 15-year career with CKE Restaurants, the parent company of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s. He most recently was CKE’s chief accounting officer.

Jose Armario, Bojangles’ CEO, called Stewart a “standout in the world of corporate finance,” saying that his experience in the quick-service business “is difficult to match.”

Stewart called Bojangles’ “a beloved and iconic brand with an amazing history.”

The move continues an overhaul of the C-suite at the 763-unit chain, which was taken private in January by a pair of private-equity firms. Armario was named CEO shortly after the deal was completed, while Brian Unger was named COO. Both Armario and Unger are former McDonald’s executives.
