Atlanta-based fast casual Farm Burger has elevated its chief operating officer to CEO, according to a company press release.

David Danowitz joined the 12-unit chain last year, after previously serving as COO at the Goldbergs Group of Restaurant Companies and as the vice president of operations at Mellow Mushroom.

Jason Mann, Farm Burger’s co-founder and former CEO, will now serve as executive chairman.

In his new role, Danowitz will identify brand priorities, set strategy and direction, and continue to grow the concept.

“For the past year, David has led with fierce courage and compassion while embodying the core values that we founded our restaurants on 10 years ago,” Mann said in a statement. “Under his leadership, Farm Burger is well positioned to realize its fullest potential as we look toward the future.”

Farm Burger is known for using local, seasonal ingredients with a focus on grass-fed beef.
