Mac’s Speed Shop names George Shang Skipper as its president

The industry veteran will be charged with growing the barbecue concept.

Mac’s Hospitality Group, the parent of Mac’s Speed Shop barbecue chain, has hired George Shang Skipper as its new president, the Charlotte, N.C.-based company announced this week.

An industry veteran, Shang Skipper previously was vice president of operations for Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group. He most recently worked as multiconcept brand leader for hospitality management company LMR LLC.

Shang Skipper will be charged with growing the eight-unit Mac’s Speed Shop concept, known for its housemade barbecue sauce and selection of more than 300 beers at each location.

Mac’s Hospitality Group also operates several other concepts in the Carolinas.
