The 73-year-old Norms diner chain has named longtime industry veteran Eric Wyatt as CEO and president.

Among his duties in leading parent company Norms Restaurants will be expanding the 21-unit Norms brand both within and beyond its stronghold of Southern California. Two stores are already slated to open this spring on Norms’ home turf.

"I am eager to kickoff the next phase of NORMS’ growth and development by expanding within southern California and new markets, broadening our consumer appeal to reach new audiences, and more," Wyatt said in a prepared statement.

He joins the company with more than 30 years in the chain restaurant business. He has held senior operations roles for such brands as Starbucks, Panera, and the fast-food chains run by Yum Brands.

Norms was founded in 1949 in Hollywood by Norm Roybark. It is known for its diner fare and retro Googie style of architecture.
