Tropical Smoothie Cafe makes changes in the c-suite

Tropical Smoothie Cafe has brought on five new executives—including a new chief marketing officer and chief financial officer—in an effort to position itself for growth.

The fast-casual chain's new additions, and their respective roles, are: Rob Collins, CMO; Paul Marsden, CFO; Pete Ward, general counsel; Jaime Denney, SVP of operations; and Cheryl Fletcher, VP of franchise development strategy.

"Our talented staff is the backbone of Tropical Smoothie Cafe and a huge component of our ongoing success,” CEO Mike Rotondo said in a statement. “We know that an investment in our leadership is an investment in our future, and have no doubt that the expertise and knowledge these exceptional industry veterans bring will be tremendous assets as we continue taking the brand to new heights.”

The 600-plus-unit chain said it aims to expand to 1,000 U.S. locations by 2020.
