Wendy’s to appoint new HR chief

Wendy’s will soon appoint a new chief people officer, as the current holder of that role—Scott Weisberg—is set to leave the brand early next year.

Pending final approval from Wendy’s board of directors, Vice President of Human Resources Coley O’Brien will take up the chief people officer post once it's transitioned from Weisberg. Weisberg is expected to leave Wendy’s in March 2018, according to the chain.

“Coley has played an integral role in key initiatives such as system optimization with the successful transfer of talent and organizational capability as the company refranchised the majority of its restaurants,” CEO Todd Penegor said in a statement. “His leadership of our field operations training organization has transformed and modernized our learning systems, delivering customized programs for the 250,000 Wendy's crew members, managers and multi-unit operators who bring the Wendy's vision to life every day for customers in more than 6,500 restaurants."

O’Brien joined Wendy’s in 2007 as national director of operations training.
