Wingstop promoted a senior vice president to chief operating officer Wednesday, filling the role vacated by Larry Kruguer, who resigned last month.

Mahesh Sadarangani joined Winstop last July after previously serving as chief administrative officer of Chuck E. Cheese’s parent CEC Entertainment.

While working as Wingstop’s senior vice president of channel strategy, Sadarangani helped strengthen and refine the growth agenda for the Dallas-based fast-casual chain, the company said. He led the completion of the rollout of nationwide delivery, aided in the company’s pricing strategy and worked to expand Wingstop’s number of nontraditional units.

“Since joining the team, Mahesh has spent a significant amount of time focusing on in-restaurant processes, developing meaningful relationships with our brand partners and learning the ins and outs of our operations,” Wingstop CEO Charlie Morrison said in a statement. “We’re continually investing in our people to ensure we have the right team to propel our company to the next level, and Mahesh’s vast experience in operations and formulating strategy make him an excellent choice to lead our domestic operations.”

Prior to his resignation, Kruguer spent five years with Wingstop. He’s the fourth executive to depart the chain in the past year.
