Long John Silver’s debuts new value meal

Angling its way into the QSR value wars, Long John Silver’s is introducing a new value meal that gives customers five menu items for $5.

The $5 Reel Deal Box includes a choice of three entrees, fries, hushpuppies, a chocolate chip cookie and a drink.

“Customers shouldn’t have to sacrifice their budgets for high-quality meals,” Marilyn Nicholson, vice president of marketing, media and promotions at Long John Silver’s, said in a statement. “We pride ourselves in serving wild-caught Alaskan Whitefish, offering it in a complete meal for $5 is an unbeatable value.”

Several QSRsincluding Wendy’sMcDonald’sCarl’s Jr. and Burger Kinghave recently shifted away from their dollar menus, favoring new, higher-ticket value meals. 

The $5 Reel Deal Box is available through May 23.
