Maggiano’s debuts brunch

In a new bid to drum up diner interest, Maggiano’s Little Italy this week introduced brunch chainwide.

Though Maggiano’s previously offered breakfast for private events, its brunch menu marks a broader expansion into what has been a nontraditional daypart for the brand.

Maggiano’s brunch menu will be served seven days a week—with a truncated version offered on weekdays—and is comprised of 12 new items. Its focus is on five variations of eggs benedict, including a meatball version and a crab cake iteration.

A number of casual chains have leaned into the popularity of brunch lately, with TGI Fridays introducing the daypart spanner at a prototype unit last year.

Comps at Maggiano’s fell 0.8% year over year in its most recent quarter—a slip its parent company, Brinker International, chalked up to overall weakness in casual dining.

Maggiano’s sister brand, Chili’s, does not currently offer brunch.
