Krispy Kreme, McDonald’s marketing vet heads to Bojangles’

Jackie Woodward will take over the CMO post from Randy Poindexter, who is retiring after nearly 30 years.

Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits has appointed Jackie Woodward as chief marketing officer, the company announced Tuesday.

Woodward, a marketer for more than 30 years, comes to the chicken-and-biscuit chain after serving as global chief marketing officer for Krispy Kreme. She has also held high-level marketing jobs with McDonald’s, General Mills and MillerCoors.

Woodward replaces Randy Poindexter, who recently announced his retirement after 28 years with the company. The two will work together for the next several months, the company said in a statement. Woodward officially assumes her new role next week.

“The Bojangles’ brand is recognized for its pioneering, innovative, engaging and memorable marketing campaigns, and we plan to continue our unique approach to reaching consumers with Jackie at the helm,” CEO Jose Armario said in a statement.

While at Krispy Kreme, Woodward worked with U.S. and international franchisees to define a global brand strategy. She’ll be responsible for brand growth at Charlotte, N.C.-based Bojangles’.

“I appreciate the opportunity to be part of the extraordinary things happening at this company and look forward to working with our franchise partners to share the Bojangles’ experience with more and more new guests across the country,” she said in a statement.
