More Buzz about U.S. Foodservice

Analysts including Petercam SA's Fernand de Boer said Ahold is currently reviewing all of its assets and has said it will announce its intentions on Monday, Nov. 6. In addition to U.S. Foodservice, assets in Poland, Portugal and the U.S., including its Tops chain may also be up for sale, Bloomberg reported.

De Boer based his expectation on the fact that synergies between U.S. Foodservice and Ahold are "very limited" and the Dutch corporation considers itself a food retailer rather than a food distributor.

"I think they'll put it up for sale," de Boer was quoted as saying about the second largest American distributorship.
