Ontario's Flanagan Foodservice a Finalist for Family Enterprise of 2009

OAKVILLE, ON (Sept. 18)—Flanagan Foodservice, the largest private Canadian-owned foodservice distributor in Canada, is a finalist for the Southwestern Ontario Family Enterprise of the Year 2009 award. The award, given each year by the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (CAFÉ), recognizes significant achievement made by a family enterprise in the region. Flanagan, founded in 1977 by Joe Flanagan and now operated by his four sons, has enjoyed three decades of consistent growth and expansion, according to CAFÉ’s announcement, which states, "Flanagan Food service is constantly improving by refining its services, systems, product mix and offering the flexibility to meet is customers' challenges and changing needs."

The company serves some 5,000 customers across Ontario from three distribution centers, in Kitchener, Owen Sound and Sudbury.
