OpenTable users pick 100 hottest restaurants

OpenTable has revealed the 100 highest-consumer-rated restaurants among the 20,000 places that participate in the reservations service.

The 100 Hot Spot Restaurants are treated as equals rather than ranked. “There’s an intoxicating buzz in and around each of these restaurants,” said Caroline Potter, OpenTable’s chief dining officer.

She noted that the 100 include-ees were put in the elite category by consumers, who posted 5 million reviews on OpenTable from March 1, 2014 through Feb. 28, 2015.

California dominated the list with 22 entrants, followed by New York and Florida, each with 13, and Illinois, with 11.
