Should We Get On The Internet And How?

The most important strategic question is: "Why should our company get on the Internet?"
There are many reasons to join the Internet community, from "vanity" - we just have to have a presence because all of our friends have one - to "competitive" - if we do not do it our customers will buy on-line from another company. Whatever is the right answer for you, consider the risks and then, if you decide to proceed, do it right the first time.

First, review the legal ramifications of being on-line. This is extremely difficult area as there is not a solid body of law yet in place. There are many "gut" feelings and a little bit of experience. In the mean time, caution would be the best guide.
