Scooter’s Coffee hires a chief information officer

Richard Heyman will help the drive-thru coffee chain improve its tech offerings for franchisees and customers, the company said.

Scooter’s Coffee has hired Richard Heyman as chief information officer, the company announced this week.

Heyman brings 35 years of information technology experience to the Omaha, Neb.-based fast casual coffee chain.

He will be tasked with upgrading the tech at Scooter’s to benefit franchisees and customers, the chain said.

“Heyman’s expertise in digital transformation will result in data-driven, dynamic decision-making, allowing the company and franchise system to elevate overall customer experience while striving to deliver the best drive-thru interaction in the world,” Scooter’s said in a statement.

Heyman has previously worked for several retail chains.

Scooter’s was founded in 1998 and now has more than 300 drive-thrus in 20 states. The chain specializes in specialty espresso drinks, smoothies, fresh pastries and savory breakfast options.
