Subway announces new chief digital officer

Subway has announced the promotion of Carissa Ganelli to chief digital officer. Ganelli will be responsible for the brand’s global digital strategy and will be leading Subway Digital, a division of the chain that is responsible for bolstering Subway’s technology presence.

Ganelli joined Subway last year as vice president of marketing technology. Since then, she has helped the chain implement its new “Fresh Forward” restaurant design, which includes adding digital menu boards and self-ordering kiosks in restaurants and has worked on debuting the chain’s new mobile app.

"Carissa's strong commitment to Subway and her digital expertise make her a great fit for leading our digital team and taking them to the next level," said Suzanne Greco, president and CEO of Subway restaurants, in a statement. "She is an innovative, dynamic leader with a track record for delivering breakthrough initiatives and implementing digital strategies and technologies."
