Uber expands its restaurant delivery service uberFRESH

Ater a presumably successful test run that launched in August, ride-share company/driver app Uber has expanded its restaurant delivery service. The Los Angeles Times reports uberFRESH is now available in Los Angeles' westside, Beverly Hills, and West Hollywood neighborhoods, with delivery during lunch and dinner service. According to an explanatory blog post, uberFRESH charges a flat $3 delivery fee, with "no need to tip" the driver, and claims to deliver food in 10 minutes or less. But unlike Amazon's recently launched takeout and delivery service now available in Seattle, uberFRESH offers a limited menu: Diners must plan ahead, as only one dish is available from one predetermined restaurant every day of the week. Today, those in West Hollywood/Beverly Hills can order "the Uberger" from the Counter for dinner; tomorrow, the option is a grilled steak sandwich from STK.
