Uncle Maddio’s said that Atlanta Hawks part-owner Rutherford Seydel has purchased a minority stake in the fast-casual pizza concept, following the chain’s minority-share acquisition by S&S Group, an early investor in Five Guys Burgers & Fries

The 44-unit chain will use the capital infusion to propel its “aggressive” growth strategy, with the aim to triple its corporate staff this year.

“Rutherford Seydel brings with him an unmatched network of business connections and experience,” said Uncle Maddio’s CEO Matt Andrew, a longtime friend of Seydel’s. “As we grow, his input and insight will be invaluable to our brand.”

Seydel previously invested in another concept developed by Andrew, Moe’s Southwest Grill.
