U.S. Foodservice to Close Two South Carolina Facilities



The second largest distributorship in the country according to the 2008 ID Top 50 said it would close its distribution center on here White Horse Road by Nov. 9, leaving 175 people out of work, and eliminate another 68 positions at a regional support office in the Brookfield Corporate Center in Mauldin.

U.S. Foodservice noted in the announcement that the Greenville location services major chain restaurant customers that after the closure will be serviced by other North Star Foodservice locations.

The remaining six North Star Foodservice locations will continue servicing national chain restaurant customers, the company said. Organizationally, the distributorship said, these divisions will be realigned to report into U.S. Foodservice
