USDA Appoints Four to Lamb Promotion Board

WASHINGTON, DC - Agriculture Secretary Ann M. Veneman appointed four industry representatives to the Lamb Promotion, Research and Information Board, who will serve three-year terms.

The 13-member board is composed of six producers, three feeders, one seedstock producer and three first-handlers. The secretary of agriculture will appoint one-third of all board members each year.

Appointed members are: Sandra K. Snider of Wyoming and Lorin L. Moench Jr., of Utah representing producers; L. Spencer Rule of Colorado representing feeders; and Teddie Rose Crippen of Oregon representing first-handlers.

"The board administers programs to enhance domestic markets for lamb and lamb products," said Veneman. "I am pleased these individuals have agreed to provide their time and expertise to serve on this board."
