USDA Quarantines Another Herd in Washington

WASHINGTON, DC - Another dairy herd in Washington State was quarantined after at least one animal was linked to the original infected Holstein cow, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said today.

The USDA confirmed that one animal has gone to a dairy in Quincy, WA, and it believes that as many as seven animals may have been sent to this facility. The USDA is working to confirm how many animals remain at this facility.

Meanwhile, Japan and Mexico have sent delegations to the United States to discuss response to the BSE occurrence and the ongoing investigation.
