USF Plans $13-Million Expansion in Topeka

Under the proposed plan, the USF expansion would add 20 new jobs within three years to the 175 jobs at the existing facility, according to a report in the Topeka Capital-Journal. The distribution center, which pays an average wage of slightly more than $50,000, is on the western edge of the area it serves and reportedly has been courted by communities across the border in Missouri, as well.

JEDO members voted to offer USF $5,000 per job retained and created up to a maximum of $1 million.
