Vitality Foodservice agrees to Nestle acquisition

TAMPA, Fla. (Nov. 20, 2009)—Vitality Foodservice Inc., which provides beverages to the foodservice industry, said Thursday that it has agreed to be purchased by Nestle's professional division for an undisclosed sum.

The deal does not include Vitality's European manufacturing and distribution operations. The privately held company is a part of Goldner Hawn Private Equity.

"The opportunity to join with Nestle Professional provides us with very complementary product lines," Vitality Foodservice CEO Gary Viljoen said in a statement.

Nestle's professional unit concentrates on the out-of-home food and beverage market.

The acquisition is expected to close within 30 days.
