W.S. Lee & Sons Forms Chain Division

DUNCANSVILLE, PA - W.S. Lee & Sons, Inc., an ID Top 50 family-owned broadliner here, has formed a multi-unit division to service accounts in this growing market segment, according to a company executive.

Robert Lee, president, told ID Access, that the division, called Lee Systems Solutions, LLC, will market its service to commercial and noncommercial contract and chain accounts.

Its first account, worth $250 million over five years, is with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, providing foodservice products to corrections facilities, state veterans homes, public welfare centers and the state police academy.

The division will operate out of the former Fleming Foodservice building, in nearby Altoona. This 150,000-sq.-ft. center offers refrigerated, frozen and dry warehouse space, and will allow the UniPro-member to expand its chain business opportunities, Lee said.
