Y. Hata Wins $175M In Military Contracts

HAWAII (November 25, 2011)—Y. Hata & Co. Ltd., one of Hawaii's largest food-service distributors, has been awarded two contracts worth a potential $175 million over the next two years to supply food to military bases in Hawaii.

Honolulu-based Y. Hata & Co. was awarded a fixed-price, indefinite quantity, prime vendor contract worth a maximum $87.9 million for food distribution for the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps., through Dec. 14, 2013, the Defense Department said.

A second fixed-price, indefinite quantity, prime vendor contract worth a maximum $87.5 million is for full-line food distribution for the Navy, also through Dec. 14, 2013, the Defense Department said.

The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support in Philadelphia received two responses to its web-based request for proposals for each contract, the Defense Department said.
