Sysco-Arkansas Names Jolly President, coo

HOUSTON - Henry P. Jolly has been named president and chief operating officer of Sysco Food Services of Arkansas, LLC, a broadline foodservice subsidiary located in Little Rock, AR, according to corporate headquarters here.

Jolly, who currently serves as executive vice president of the distributorship's Olathe, KS, operation, will assume his new responsibilities effective Wednesday, Sept. 1. He succeeds Walter S. Nunnelly, who has been appointed chairman of the operation and who will continue as chief executive officer of the facility until his retirement in mid-2005.

Jolly, 49, began his Sysco career in 1983 as a produce specialist for Mid-Central/Sysco, the predecessor company to Sysco Food Services of Kansas City, Inc. In 1985 he was named produce manager at Sysco's Memphis, TN, operation and in 1989 he transferred to the Houston operating company as director of merchandising.

Jolly relocated to Dallas in 1997 to serve as senior vice president of merchandising at Sysco's Dallas broadline distribution company and in 2000 he was named president of FreshPoint Value Added Services, the fresh repackaging division of FreshPoint, Inc., the distributorship's specialty produce subsidiary. Jolly was promoted to his current position in August 2001.

A native of Kansas City, MO, Jolly attended Avila College and earned a bachelor of arts degree in business administration, with a concentration in hotel management, in 1978. He and his wife, Penny, have an infant daughter and will relocate to the Little Rock area in the near future.

Nunnelly, 60, began his Sysco career with Robert Orr-Sysco Food Services Co., LLC, in Nashville, TN, while attending Vanderbilt University in 1964, prior to the affiliate's merger with Sysco in 1972. Following his graduation from Vanderbilt with a bachelor of arts degree in 1966, he served in the United States Air Force before returning to the Nashville operation in 1969 as director of customer service and national accounts. Nunnelly progressed to vice president of marketing in 1982, vice president of sales in 1984 and executive vice president in 1986. In September 1995 he was promoted to his current duties at the Little Rock operation. Nunnelly is a native of Nunnelly, TN. He and his wife, Sarah, reside in Little Rock.
