Avalon Receives Excellence Award

CANAL FULTON, OH - Avalon Foodservice, Inc., among the largest independent foodservice distributors in Ohio, has received one of the 2004 Business Excellence Awards from the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce.

This prestigious award is presented to privately-owned companies that demonstrate staying power, service and product innovation, employee growth and who have responded to adversity and are involved in the community.

Avalon services all types of foodservice customers, including restaurants, long-term healthcare, colleges, schools and institutional facilities. In 2003 Avalon reached $55 million in sales, a figure its management expects to exceed by at least 10% in 2004. It delivers throughout Ohio and parts of Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia and Kentucky from its northeastern Ohio warehouse.
