Burger King is encouraging fans to embrace the scorching summer heat by digging into its new Fiery Menu.

The menu is available for a limited time starting July 18 and includes five items—each rated according to its heat level.

At the mild end of the scale is Fiery Strawberry & Sprite, rated Spice Level 1. The beverage, a blend of lemon-lime soda and a fiery strawberry puree, offers just a bit of a kick. Coming in at Spice Level 2 are Fiery Mozzarella Fries filled with melted mozzarella cheese and peppers and are fried until crisp. The breading contains Calabrian peppers to elevate the heat a notch or two.

The Fiery Bacon Whopper is rated at Spice Level 3. It’s layered with a quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty, crispy fiery-seasoned bacon, pepper jack cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and a creamy fiery sauce on a toasted sesame seed bun. Next up are Fiery Chicken Fries, white meat chicken marinated with a fiery seasoning and coated in a garlic and pepper breading for an extra wallop of heat. Fiery Chicken Fries reach a Spice Level 4 rating.

But the hottest item of all is the Fiery Royal Crispy ChickenSandwich at Spice Level 5. The crispy white meat breast filet is coated with a fiery glaze and topped with crispy fiery-seasoned bacon, pepper jack cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and creamy fiery sauce on a toasted bun.

To cool off palates, Burger King is now offering Hidden Valley Ranch dip cups, included with orders of the new Fiery Mozzarella Fries and Fiery Chicken Fries. The ranch dressing will remain an option even after the LTO ends.

Miami-based Burger King is no scaredy-cat when it comes to spicy menu items. The chain introduced the Ghost Pepper Whopper back in October, 2022, in time for a Halloween promotion. It featured a flame grilled beef patty topped with spicy queso, crisp jalapeños, bacon and ghost pepper cheese. The following October, Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries hit the menu.

At one time, the ghost pepper was the hottest chili pepper in the world. As part of its “Reclaim the Flame” campaign, Burger King is continuing to develop Whopper line extensions, like this new fiery version.

There is a theory that spicy foods help cool the body down in hot weather by causing the eater to sweat. While the Fiery Bacon Whopper is up there, customers who are really overheated should probably go for the chicken sandwich.
