Quarantine cooking focused on comfort foods, especially in the beginning of the pandemic when the weather was still cool. Roast and fried chicken, pizza, lasagna, barbecue and other familiar dishes were the top items ordered for restaurant delivery, and noncommercial chefs were cooking for similar cravings. Although consumers went for lighter fare once summer rolled around, comfort foods never go out of style, and Culinary Council members are planning new versions of these perennial favorites.
