Packer Joins NRAEF West Coast Staff

CHICAGO - Gary Packer has joined the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) as the new western region national account manager effective immediately, according to Mary M. Adolf, president and coo.

Packer reports directly to Mike DiLillo, the NRAEF's vice president of sales. He will be responsible for chain account sales and will contribute to accomplishing annual goals and objectives related to the sales of all NRAEF products and programs for his region.

Packer came to the NRAEF from his position as vice president, foodservice, national accounts, for Tumaro's Gourmet Tortillas & Snacks, Los Angeles. While with Tumaro's he succeeded in developing many industry-recognized foodservice chain and national account customers nationwide. Prior to Tumaro's, Packer was vice president of foodservice for Overhill Farms, and prior to that, he was responsible for managing the Foodservice Division of Mission Foods.

His foodservice career started with Kraft Foodservice, where he advanced from a sales representative to national marketing manager and then to national account selling and management. He then went to Staley/Continental where he headed up the manufacturing division's national account group.

Packer graduated from The San Francisco City College Hotel and Restaurant School with degrees in Business and Hotel and Restaurant Management.

He has been an active participant with IFMA throughout his career, serving for many years on the COEX Planning Committee. He also has served as a "featured" speaker at their annual Sales and Marketing Conference.

Packer presently lives in Henderson, NV, with his wife Nancy.
