PFG-AFI Pitches In on New Jersey

The distributor produced marketing graphics used on trucks to help promote the campaign.

Dubbed “Dine Out Often—You Deserve It!,” the campaign is designed to reinforce to consumers that dining out often “creates jobs, brings friends and family together and it’s delicious too!”

“In response to our members’ concerns about the expected tough first quarter of 2009 and beyond, NJRA is investing resources in this campaign to educate the public that dining out has great value and is good for the economy too,” said Jimmy Thornton, 2009 chairman of the NJRA board.  “The NJRA has printed window decals and bumper stickers for restaurants and vendors to use and we’re encouraging restaurants to put the message on menus.”

The restaurant and hospitality industry plays a vital role in the economy of the state because of the wide range of opportunities and jobs created, according to Thornton.  “The restaurant and hospitality industry has more than 300,000 employees, making it the state’s largest private sector employer.  Restaurants account for nearly one-third of the state’s tourism industry and its workers serve as ambassadors of tourism for New Jersey,” said Thornton.
